TikTok

Report September 2026

Submitted
TikTok’s mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy. With more than 200 million people across Europe coming to TikTok every month, including 189 million in the EU, it’s natural for people to hold different opinions. That’s why we focus on a shared set of facts when it comes to issues that affect people’s safety. A safe, authentic, and trustworthy experience is essential to achieving our goals. Transparency plays a key role in building that trust, allowing online communities and society to assess how TikTok meets its regulatory obligations. As a signatory to the Code of Conduct on Disinformation (the Code), TikTok is committed to sharing clear insights into the actions we take.

TikTok takes disinformation extremely seriously. We are committed to preventing its spread, promoting authoritative information, and supporting media literacy initiatives that strengthen community resilience.

Our 2026 H1 report under the Code can be found below.

Commitment 22
Relevant Signatories commit to provide users with tools to help them make more informed decisions when they encounter online information that may be false or misleading, and to facilitate user access to tools and information to assess the trustworthiness of information sources, such as indicators of trustworthiness for informed online navigation, particularly relating to societal issues or debates of general interest.
We signed up to the following measures of this commitment

Measure 22.7
Relevant Signatories will design and apply products and features (e.g. information panels, banners, pop-ups, maps and prompts, trustworthiness indicators) that lead users to authoritative sources on topics of particular public and societal interest or in crisis situations.
QRE 22.7.1
Relevant Signatories will outline the products and features they deploy across their services and will specify whether those are available across Member States.
As explained in further detail in our response to QRE 17.1.1, we deploy a range of in-app tools that proactively direct users to trusted sources. These include labels and search interventions, which surface links to trusted information providers when users engage with relevant content or queries. These tools are available in relevant EU member states and in 23 official EU languages (plus, for EEA users, Norwegian and Icelandic), as applicable.
We also run targeted, localised campaigns to further promote authoritative information on specific topics.
